Not many people know this…
Local shelters won’t advertise it — but the truth is, they’re overwhelmed.
Because of the housing crisis and rising costs,
more and more families are being forced to give up their dogs.
Many are heartbroken. Some are desperate.
And when shelters fill up, dogs that go unclaimed
within just a few days are often placed on the euthanasia list.
It’s a terrifying, disorienting experience for these innocent animals —
one they never saw coming and can’t understand.
That’s why Boho Dog Rescue Ranch,

steps in when time is running out —
offering freedom, healing, and a second chance at life.

Every rescue needs a heart at the helm, and for Boho Dog Rescue Ranch, that heart belongs to Isaac. As our Ranch Manager — or as we like to call him, the Leader of the Pack!
His empathy, patience, and endless love for dogs (and all animals) make him truly one of a kind.
From sunrise feedings to midnight check-ins, Isaac is there with gentle hands and a big heart, helping every scared pup learn to trust again.

Every rescue begins with a call that no one wants to hear — a dog in a California shelter, on the euthanasia list, with only hours left.
These anxious, worried pups are out of time.
That’s when our rescue partners step in.
They visit the shelters, looking into the eyes of the forgotten, and alert us when a soul is about to be lost.
From there, the clock starts ticking — and the magic begins.
A volunteer hero is quickly arranged to give that pup their Freedom Ride in our Jeep to the ranch.
The moment they realize they’re safe — noses pressed to the window, ears perked up, tails wagging in disbelief — is pure joy.
Those videos say it all: the exact second they understand they’ve been given a second chance at life and love.

When the Jeep rolls into Boho Dog Rescue Ranch, they’re greeted with hugs, kisses, and their very own “Bark Box” of toys.
Then it’s time to check into their room — maybe the cozy Bunk House, the playful James Dean Room, or the dreamy Dog Loft — where R&R means Rest & Relaxation and the first step toward healing begins.
Dinner is always wholesome ranch grub — only the best: “Ollie” & “Sundays”.
Slowly, as trust builds, each pup is introduced to the pack and learns the true joy of running free.
Golden hour means sandy corral ball chases, tails wagging in the light, followed by treats and tuck-ins for a peaceful night’s sleep — safe, loved, and finally free.
Where second chances run free
Mornings start with a sunrise ranch hike, a dip in the pool, and (of course) a well-deserved siesta.
Each day is a rhythm of running with the pack, soaking up affection from our team and rescue volunteers, and rediscovering what it means to be a dog.
And then comes the best part — our monthly YAPPY HOURS on the coast.
Here, our rescues meet dog lovers searching for their forever best friend.
Smiles, wagging tails, and sometimes instant connections — this is where forever homes are found.
